Where have I been??

Wow!!! I'm 6 months behind on this blog. I was so excited when I first started and got a little carried away. Well somehow I lost track of time and I am wayyyyy behind. I am goin to try to play catch up just a little with life from the past 6 months. Be patient I will get there and I am going to get better at this I promises;)

I just wanted to blog a few pictures this morning... After Mayson woke up, ate, and had his bath he was wide awake playing with mommy!!! I am soo amazed at how fast he is growing and changing everyday... It makes me a little sad :( But hey I am getting to spend more time than most bc actually he would still be in my belly right now.. So we have gotten 8 extra weeks of fun!!!! Here is a few pics that just make me smile ;)

BATH TIME!!!!

OK... :) while we were at the hospital Mayson hated getting a bath!! He would scream!!! I think it is because be was cold and they dont actually out you down in water just squeeze it over you... Heck that would be cold on anyone :) BUT when his Mommy gives him a bath he likes it a little more :) I love bath time !! Nothing better than snuggling with a clean little man that smells just like a little baby:) Heres a few pics I want to share !!

Coming Home

Mayson finally got to come home May 21 2011, after 3 long weeks in the NICU... Even though it was a difficult time not getting to bring him home right away I wouldnt have had it any other way!! the nurses were AMAZING, and I was soo blessed to have such a good experience. This day was probably the next best day besides my wedding day... Well maybe they were about the same because I was sooo happy to get to bring my baby boy home!!!! He weighed exactly 5 pounds when we left the hospital!!!!

Eating

As you can tell from the little tube in Mayson's nose, when he was first born he wasnt able to take a bottle. I am not sure how many of you know this but at 32 weeks gestation age a baby doesnt yet have the suck swallow breath reflex that newborns have. So premies get fed with a feeding tube that is placed down their nose that goes to their stomach. He recieved his feedings from this for awhile... It was very hard on mommy because I wanted to hold him and fed him like everyone else got to do with their babies... But I knew I had to be patient and that he would soon catch on. Babies usually learn how to do this at 35 weeks and sometimes sooner. We tried bottles here and there but he was never able to drink them all because at such a little size it was alot of work to drink that WHOLE BOTTLE mommy and it wore him out. The first time I got to give him a bottle he drank ALL of it .. yes I said ALL of it!!!! I was soo happy!!!! The nurses told me now dont get your hopes up he is still young and probably wont do this everytime.. Of course I was like he did it once yes he will :) hehe... I prayed and prayed that little Mayson would show those nurses he could do it... Welll... of course they were right he didnt do it everytime.... Although each day that passed he did better and better and would drink more and more.... He was finally up to his max feeding for his weight, but still wasnt drinking all of it.. it is kind of depressing because you know he can do it... I guess it was the hormones getting back to normal but I would cry becuase I just wanted him to do it for mommy....  Well of course I leave and when I get back I had a little note from his nurse on his dry erase board.. I will post a pic so you can see the great news!!!!

When we left the hospital I think he was drinking between 30-40cc of breast milk every 3 -4 hours... NOW he is almost drinking 3 onces every 3 hours!! He is becoming mommys little chunky monkey!!! As of Monday he weighed 5 pounds 4 ounces...:) I was sooo happy!!!!!

Happy Mothers Day!!!

Oh do I have a story to tell :)

Soo Shaun and I had been talking before Mayson got here that since I was a mommy now that  I got to get my first Mothers Day present this year... As Shaun teases me for the whole pregnancy that I wasnt a mommy yet because Mayson wasnt here I had to wait till next year so that Mayson could be here and get me a present.... Well Mayson had different plans for Daddy :) you go Mayson!!!! I have been wanting to get a camcorder so that I could capture all Maysons little moments of growing up!!!! Well Shaun had promised I could get one eventually before Mayson got here but it wasnt going to be a Mothers Day present!! Needless to say Mayson arrived just in time to get his Mommy her first Mothers Day Present and proved his Daddy wrong :) I think Mayson has just heard me talk about it soo much he wasnt going to have it any other way haha!!!!

Even tho I did get my camcorder which I love .. I have to say the Rose and little piece of paper I got with Maysons hand prints and poem was the by far the BEST Mothers Day present I could ever ask for!!!!!

My SURPRISE bundle of JOY!!

OK!!! Let me just say I have had a crazy month!!!! This might be a little long but I have havent blogged in a while and I have alot to tell you!!!

For those of you who dont know I was pregnant and my due date was June 24.. little did I know my Precious Little Man had different plans for his mommy :) On April 29 my husband and I had gone to his brothers house for dinner. My stomach was sort of cramping but I figured I was starting to have Braxton Hicks preparing me for the BIG arrival of Mayson. Well the pain continued from about 9pm till about 5am the next morning. Needless to say I didnt sleep all night but really didnt know what was going on. This is my first baby so I really didnt no what to expect. Of course I didnt tell my husband I was having pain becuase I didnt want to freak him out!! around 5am the pain had gotten worse so I got in the bathtub thinking that would help... Well it didnt.. a few more things happened so I called my mom my first instinct :) and she told me to call my Dr. So I do and he tells me to come in that he is going to put me on the monitor and see what is going on.Sooo I wake Shaun up and tell him we have to get to the hospital..of course he starts freaking out ...he is soo cute :) you would have thought he was the pregnant one. We get to the Dr. around 6:30 to find out I am 7cm dilated at 32 weeks!!! I AM FREAKING OUT AT THIS POINT!!!! We call our family thinking we are having a baby soon!! For the next hours they tried everything to stop my labor...WELLLL it just wasnt happening.. God knew what he was doing and he wanted little Mayson to be born on April 30th 2011 at 9:28pm, and that is just what happened!!! He was 4pounds 2 ounces and 17 1/2 inches long!!!! Since he was born soo early he had to stay in the NICU for 3 weeks... Whooo that was a long three weeks... I stayed with him every single night except 4. That was very tiring but O so worth it and I couldnt bring it upon myself to leave him :( Here are a few pics of the whole process :)

One more thing.... A little info before I freak you out haha.. A month before I had Mayson I had a dream one night that Mayson didnt come out as a white baby haha... He was black and I didnt know why...lol I woke shaun up and told him about it and told the rest of my family and they all laugh it off... well look below and you will know why I had this crazy dream!  God was preparing me for what Little Mayson was going to look like when he made his arrival!!!

Needless to say I LOVE THIS LITTLE PRINCE SOOOO MUCH!!!!! He has stolen my heart from day one !!! I think he is gonna be a Mommys boy :)

Where I have been lately.....

Well I am defintely a little behind on my blogging. I said I was going to start this for Mayson and since he is here I guess I am not to far behind even though this wasnt suppose to take off until June 24 :) Needless to say my life has been a little crazy lately... So I will explain a little bit later!!! I have A LOT of catching up to do.. I have to feed my precious little man and I will be back...:)

Maysons New Shelf and Vinyl

Soooo..... I am still working on Maysons room a little here and there. I still have to do the curtains, get his rocking chair, and a little side table for a cute little lamp and maybe picure I have in mind... Then I will be done... But the best part is coming from my sister since she is the crafty one in the family. She is painting his letters to hang over his bed and something else really neat that I am going to hang in his room, but you will have to wait and keep following to see it soon ;). I did manage to get my husband and dad to hang his new shelf and Vinyl above his changing table I just love it :) Thought I would share a picture !!

I have one more week of school left and then finals and I will be done with school.. So hopefully I will find all the time I need to get this little ones room done!!!! Its only 9 more weeks maybe until he is here. My husband keeps saying we have plenty of time and putting stuff off.. I just dont think he knows what he is in for yet hehe :)

Dr. Apt :)

I will be going to see my Dr. next Tueday!!!! I am sooo excited!!! I am 29 weeks right now so that means maybe only 10 more weeks till I get to see baby Mayson!! After this next visit I will be going every two weeks ...WHOOO how time flies!!! I am soo ready I cannot wait!!! I am already having this crazy dreams !! Some are soo sweet and some are crazy..... I will be getting another 4d in the next few weeks as well as doing maternity pics.. I will keep you updated with all the exciting stuff coming up...

I will also be posting pics of Maysons room pretty soon!! Its almost ready!!!!

The Start of my New Blog

       Ok... This is very confusing and that is just all I have to say about it :) I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile now, but with school being pregnant and just figuring out how to work this thing I have been putting it off. I thought this would be a neat way for my friends and family near or far to keep up with what is going on with Shaun and I as well as our special addition that will be here in as little as 10 weeks!!! I just cannot wait. Although there is still tons that needs to be done, I am going to enjoy these last 10 weeks because it has gone by sooo fast.
       Many of you may know but I am in my second year of nursing school and if you know anything about nursing school it alone is enough to make you want to pull all of your hair out. Do that in between trying to make sure everything is done and perfect for Mayson Shaun's arrival!!!! I have 3 weeks left and I will offical be a Senior and on summer break!!! I CANNOT wait!!!
        I wanted to start this blog mostly for Mayson, but I am sure it will consist of other things as well... But dont be offended if he seems to take over!!! Yes I will probably be one of those obsessive moms that takes pictures everyday and literally cant control myself. I am ok with that and hopefully you will be to :)....
      
I will be back later for more post and will tell you a little bit more about my changing life in the past year!!
